The Historical Origin of the current system
The current constitution in China was adopted for implementation by the 5th National People's Congress and put into place on December 4, 1982.
This constitution promotes a socialist republic system run by a single party, which is controlled by the Communist Party of China. The Constitution is the fundamental law of the state of China. History of the current SystemIn 1976, ruler of Communist China, Mao Zedong died. Mao was a Chinese Communist Revolutionary and one of the founding fathers of the People's Republic of China. Following the founding, Mao was responsible for many political initiatives that were supported in many instances, but also led to the death of many of the Chinese People. During his period as leader, Mao wanted equal distribution of land, and believed that socialism would eventually triumph over all ideologies. After his death, his successors in both the National People's Congress and the Chinese Communist Party (which he helped create) wanted to rebuild China as a socialist and economic powerhouse. From the continuation of some of these ideas, the most recent constitution of China was created and implemented in 1982.
Socialism and communismThe current Constitution constitutes a system of socialism influenced by the Communist Party, but what exactly is the difference between socialism and communism?
Communism is based on the belief that there should be no private ownership of property. Property should be shared, and the people should ultimately control the economy. Socialism is much like the communism belief. This system is based on putting the major means of production in the hands of the people, both directly and/or through the government. This system also believes that wealth and income should be shared more equally among the people. |
